Cafeteria Plans Cafeteria plans are an "approach" to benefit planning that includes flexible spending accounts (FSA) that add an additional dimension of employer funding. For example, an employer could create "benefit bucks" for the employee to spend. In this scenario employees can buy or sell vacation days. Full-flex cafeteria plans are a complex benefit to administer, particularly during plan design and installation. However, the actual administration of a full-flex cafeteria plan is not significantly different than that required to administer FSA and Premium Only Plans (POP). The employer may base the credits on employee's family status such as married, single, single with one dependent, etc. Omega also offers traditional cafeteria plans custom designed to fit your needs using combinations of Premium Only Plans, Parking Reimbursement Plans, Medical Reimbursement Plans and Dependent Care Reimbursement Plans.

Partial Self-Insured Group Medical Plans There are some large firms that pay all of the employee health-care claims out of pocket, but most self-insurers estimate costs based on past claims and buy indemnity insurance to limit their exposure above that amount. These indemnity policies, called "stop-loss" or "reinsurance", protect against higher-than-predicted individual claims and catastrophic group expenses. For the employer, the lower the stop-loss threshold insured, the higher the premium will be for the coverage. Smaller employers should generally have a relatively low stop-loss threshold.
Employees do not experience any difference in a self-funded plan as compared to traditional health insurance, but the company has more control over the spending of its health-insurance money. Employers do not retain the entire difference between the traditional health-insurance premiums and the benefits actually used, because they incur expenses for consulting, third-party administration and stop-loss coverage. Nevertheless, when the plan's bottom line produces savings, it goes back to employers – not to the insurance company.

Invoice Reconciliation Services Studies show that the average employer spends over 45 minutes a month on each insurance invoice to reconcile it for payment. This valuable service works well with our Enrollment Processing Service for a total seamless integration. You gain peace of mind and the financial savings of paying for only those employees who should be on the coverage. Omega's invoice reconciliation services works like this:

COBRA Continuation COBRA is a law that requires organizations with 20 or more employees to offer the continuation of group health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision and Medical Reimbursement Account) to employees (and covered dependents) upon experiencing a "qualifying event." Employers are required to provide initial COBRA notification to covered employees and dependents, a letter detailing an individual's rights upon experiencing a "qualifying event," and an explanation of the conversion privilege.
